Alarma-VBS TV

Another favourite from my picks on VBS TV (Arguably one of the best current affairs/political/Journalism websites out there) is 'Alarma'. Set in Mexico City, Alarma explores the world of Homocide through a magazine that catalogs crime and violence in one of the most dangerous cities in the world. Its a foreign concept to grasp, but this is a very interesting piece of journalism. Watch it here.

Stone gave an accurate glimpse into the tyrannical practices and greedy world of the Wall Street system. This time Stone is back with the sequal 'Wall Street.Money never sleeps', starring Michael Douglas & Shia Lebeouf. The sequal will probably ruin the genius of the first movie, but i am looking forward to more Gordon Gekko. Check out the trailer here.

127 HOURS TRAILER

Danny Boyle, the mastermind behind films such as Trainspotting, The Beach, 28 Days Later and Slumdog Millionaire has released a teaser for his new film '127 Hours', starring James Franco. The film is based on Mountaineer Aron Ralston who spent 127 hours pinned beneath a boulder in Utah back in 2003. To survive he had to self amputate his arm with a blunt knife, trapped for 5 days and surviving on his own urine, I will be watching this one.

This story plays out in nearly every town and it's getting worse with unreported unemployment figures rising into the 20's.

There seems to be an overhaul of quality cinema out there ATM (At the moment). These three really caught my eye the other day, firstly Im fascinated with the ability of commercial space travel, it seems imminent on a large scale in the not so distant future. The poster for the new facebook movie 'The social Network' has just been launched onto the interweb. The new Dave Fincher(The Game, Fight Club, Zodiac, Curious Case of Benjamin Button) movie is a story about the founder of facebook which has been adapted from his tell all book, The Accidental Billionaires: The founding of facebook, A tale of sex, Money, Genius and Betrayal. They depict the protagonist in the film as a sex driven maniac, but who knows if thats true seeing he is a Mega9 -nerd from harvard. But hey it would be nice to have 500 million at your disposal to control on facebook wouldnt it????

Everyone has a bit of bike and a bit of Cali in them somewhere. Personally i think Fixies are dead, just mega scene/impractical bikes and plus i don't have the time or the money to keep my blonde fringe tidy. HOWEVER, Scraperbikes is a different story, these bad boys are where its at. This guy has the right idea (On crack or not) cause he's making a difference. Had a look in the new Surf store 'Sugarmill' down at Narrabeen the other week. Sugarmill was opened a few months ago and is owned by Kye Fitzgerald and Justin Leef who both hail from the northern beaches. This cool new shop has some dope affordable threads along with an appreciation for retro boards and gear. They also rock some cool surfboard meets every few months which look pretty dope from the photos on their website. Definitely worth a look if your in the area. Check their website here.
